How to Record Your Car Video
Follow these steps to make a video recording of your vehicle's problem. A good recording is important for an accurate diagnosis.
⚠️
Safety First
- • Be careful! A running engine has hot and moving parts.
- • Do not touch anything! Secure loose hair and clothing.
- • Hold your phone firmly with both hands to prevent dropping it.

🚗
Prepare Your Vehicle
- Ensure your vehicle is on a level surface.
- Start with a cold engine (hasn't run recently).
- Find a quiet environment to minimize background noise.
Step 2
🔧
Open the Hood
Before recording, you need to open your hood so the mechanic can see the engine clearly. Find the interior hood release lever (usually near the driver's left knee), pull it, then go to the front of the car and release the safety latch under the hood lip. Prop the hood open with the support rod.
